Malaspina Department of Recreation and Tourism Management
Dr. Dave Robinson at the Department of Recreation and Tourism
Management at Malaspina University-College has forged a partnership
with the Ucluelet planning department, providing valuable aid in
the summer 2003 review of the Official Community Plan. The relationship
may soon lead to a long-term program to help Ucluelet address ongoing
concerns in community development.

Clayoquot Green Economic Opportunities Project
The goal of the research project was to provide a list of conservation-friendly
small business opportunities that are: viable, increase community
employment to levels more closely resembling national rural averages,
provide alternatives to activities which threaten biological diversity,
and lead towards an environmentally responsible economy in Clayoquot
Sound.
